Sometimes it is very difficult to reach someone. It would be nice if each traveler had a personal contact to handle issues related to the trip. Excellent guides and accommodations. Well designed optional trips.

1, the couch was clean, spacious, and comfortable; 2, our tour directors, *Personal information removed by Feefo* and *Personal information removed by Feefo*, our drivers, *Personal information removed by Feefo* and ???, are all knowledgeable, attentive, and with good sense of humor. 1, it covered many small towns; 2, many 2 night stays. 3, many hotels were centrally located.

The bus driver dani was amazing, and the TD were helpful with any requests. The Balance of free time was too varied , sometimes there was way too much , and other times there was not quite enough. There was also I think five or six “ wine tastings” during the tour which was way too much. They were a waste of time , two or three would’ve been plenty. In the first half of the trip with fred, there was often no description of anything as we drove from one town to another, when we were passing points of interest on the road ( which left us wondering what we we passing), whereas the second half of the trip with John had much more commentary, during the driving between towns. Further some of the hotels were way too basic , no air-conditioning amenities were poor , the room to move was very limited and no irons in the rooms, which is important When people are travelling and living out a bag with creased clothes. Also small things like tea and coffee making facilities without a power point close by , means you had to move everything to boil the jug as the jug was fixed to a wooden stand holding the base of the jug, also with tea bags but no milk, and the motel charging a fee for milk!. The standard was not what we were expecting from Insight, some of the hotels were beautiful, but some were really really bad. Also there was no guided tour of Paris at all even thy there was 3 days in Paris, which was disappointing. Also some of the accommodation was way out of town so if you weren’t doing the optional dinner that night, you had to eat in their restaurant as it was to far to go anywhere else.

We worked through a travel agent but were very pleased with the Insight experience. Would definitely recommend this trip. It covers all the beautiful areas of France. Staying in most hotels two nights makes it easy also. Our tour directors were both knowledgeable and entertaining.

Driving the country roads vs freeways is the only way to see a country. The spectacular forested areas and the tiny towns, vineyards and people going about their daily lives

This is our second and third trips with Insight. The first tour was Switzerland and Danielle was a superb guide. That standard continued with Elisabeth and Emma. Nothing was too much trouble, everything was organised and information provided was interesting and at time humorous !! The service couldn't be faulted. Everything happened just as we were told. There were a couple of real surprises from both guides which were not on the itinerary!! Both were really thoughtful and genuinely caring. It was easy to form a friendship with them. The bus drivers were easy to talk to and managed luggage seamlessly. Whilst the tour was advertised as a 21 day tour, it was actually a 14 day and 7 day tour coupled together with separate tour guides and buses, as well as different people, although some did both tours. This was misleading and came as a surprise. Another surprise was a the night at a chateaux did not eventuate, with little explanation. The alternative place was delightful and from my perspective a great alternative with an ex elect dinner, wine and ambiance. Both tours and great itineraries. Both tour guides were fantastic, as were the bus drivers and coaches. The additional optional experiences were varied, enjoyable and well worth it. The standard of other guides at different locations was also very good. There could have been some more "dinner on your own" nights, but that is not essential. All accommodation was good. The Grand Chicago was an excellent choice -a lovely boutique hotel with Art Deco ambience, really good staff and well located near Monte Marte district. It was a good starting point. All of the other hotels and locations were a high standard. A bit disappointed with the Hotel on Nice (Radisson Blue) which had a fantastic position but didn't have the bar on the top floor open nor the ground floor one. Also the Le Meridien in Paris was large and somewhat "sterile" and very busy, as we prefer the smaller hotels. Overall it was a fantastic trip, made all the more enjoyable by Elisabeth and Emma, as well as the two bus drivers who somehow negotiated the town and city streets. Insight Tours certainly research and plan their trips very well. Thanks!

Worry free travel, recommending where we eat, what to see , plenty of historic facts but not too much, suitcases delivered and collected. \We all wished for at least another day or two. The baths in the hotels were really dangerous, very deep not enough hold bars. Yes it is very expensive to change but for older traveler's safety is so important But oh what a wonderful trip and Elizabeth such an informative and caring guide. And our drives amazing, especially on those narrow winding roads. Some of our hotels were exceptional and others unique. A great experience. Also Emma was totally entertaining. Thank you Insite for seeing France at its best we do hope you might expand the tours in France to. All the places we missed, such an interesting country

I was unable to reach anyone at Insight, so used my travel agent to book the 2 tours. I would have liked to speak to a live person. During the tours, Elisabeth & Emma were both great Fantastic tour of incredible French cities and villages with historical churches, Old Towns, walled cities, castles, and chateaus. I would prefer less wine tastings and do something else. Pont du Guard, St. Paul du Vence, Eze, and the Lascaux caves were personal highlights for me. The hotels were all excellent, food was of high quality, and the Optional experiences added to the overall experience. Our Tour Manager, Elisabeth was warm, informative, attentive to every detail, and made me want to continue traveling throughout France with her. Guy is a superb driver, has a great sense of humor, and made us feel completely safe. I will continue to book more Insight Tours. Our group became our family due to Elisabeth. I would like to see if Insight would bring back a winter tour of Southern France and have a new one of Northern France to see areas we missed. For the 2nd half,Emma was also an excellent tour manager. Loved her sense of humor, Irish accent and lively discussions.

John Anderson   -  Traveled, May 2024

Both directors were excellent. The experiences in Paris seemed to be confused, due to the fact that the trip was two separate trips and not the one I had expected. There were too many optional experiences, most of which were dinners and several were not up to par. The return to Paris is time wasted that could be better used to see more of the country. I had expected a single trip, not the two that actually happens.

Linda May   -  Traveled, April 2024

This has been our second Insight tour, and there will be more in the future. Lots of people on this tour have travelled with Insight for up to 8 tours. They are very well respected. We saw so many wonderful sights and had so many great experiences on this tour, that we are happy to recommend it to anyone wishing to see a bit of France. Physically it was demanding for us as 70 year olds, but even the youngens were feeling the pace - mainly because of the walking required - sometimes just from where the bus has to park to what we were going to see. The cobblestones in the old towns were hard on my recovering broken ankle also. There is a lot of time spent travelling on the bus, but I guess this just has to be or else the trip would take longer, more costs etc. Our tour guides, Elisabeth and Emma were outstanding, educating us on the various sights, ways of life in France, and at the same time, being entertaining and lovely. So for anyone thinking about doing this tour, we would say yes definitely do it. We loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Some days a little long. Eating was too late for me but I realize it is your custom there. One suggestion might be to have Sunday morning free for those who want to go to church or at least one 3 hour block a week free. Busy but good. Some places needed more time others less

Our tour guide was wonderful. Knowledgeable, considerate and nothing was too much trouble. She, along with the fabulous driver, made this one of the best trips we have done with Insight. All in all an outstanding trip. The tour was extremely busy with little downtime, particularly when taking advantage of all the optional tours. One or two leisure days would have been helpful.

Insight was a great option for me with smaller numbers, 4 star hotels and 1st class dining. The French Heritage Tour was fabulous, very well organised and the sights were fabulous. The tour directors and bus drivers were all fabulous, Elisabeth & Laurent. Elisabeth was so friendly, knowledgeable, funny and there to help or advise you with a smile on her face. Laurent went out of his way to sort a problem I had with professionalism , courtesy & understanding. I adored his witty dry sense of humor. A few more overnight stays of 2 nights would have been preferred as some days were very rushed and I felt we never saw the most of some towns/cities.

The tour director was very knowledgeable. The drivers were excellent on all the challenging roads. It was nice to have the luggage looked after. The coach was comfortable. Some of the places on the tour and the optionals were wonderful to see. I enjoyed Dijon, Beaune, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Provence area and it’s side trips, Rocamadour, Lascaux, and Monet’s garden. It would have been nice to see Lyon. Unfortunately Monaco was restricted access due to the upcoming Grand Prix so we had to take a special transport to the cathedral area and could not get near the waterfront area. I was not impressed with Albi or Grenoble. The days were long, lunch stops were mostly after 1 pm for a short time, and shops were then closed.
